Datasat unveils the first global security solution at APS 2007

Datasat Communications, a leading provider of secure global communications, and Scyron, a leader in intelligent security and surveillance solutions, is set to launch the first centralised security management solution for global organisations. The solution will be unveiled on Stand B47 during APC 2007, Europe’s premier security exhibition, in Paris from 25-27 September.

Managing the security of a large number of remote locations is a challenge for any organisation. The new solution delivers significant cost savings and productivity gains for multi-national companies, governmental and non-government organisations by centralising security management of staff and assets worldwide.  The system intelligently monitors for suspicious activity and immediately alerts head office should an event occurs. Multiple sites can be monitored simultaneously and in real time. The entire process of capture, transmission and analysis is automated.

Key to the solution is the implementation of integrated VSAT satellite, CCTV and supervisory control (SCADA) systems at the remote locations. The SCADA system monitors activity and reports back to a central hub. Should a suspicious activity occur the SCADA system send an alert while the CCTV immediately starts to record and beam video images back to head office. In this way, bandwidth is conserved until required for video transmission to deliver the optimum performance at the keenest price.
